News at Immortal Dog

Hello fellow neighbors!!!!

I wanted to share some updates from Immortal Dog – your neighbor hood pet store.

I am carrying two great lines of dehydrated raw food. What is that you ask? Dehydrated raw food fits between kibble and raw meals. These foods are gently dehydrated to ensure all the nutritional goodness is intact. All you need to do is add warm water. If you are interested in the values of raw feeding come check these products out. Also great to take on vacations and trips with your dog as a current raw food replacement.

You asked and here it is. I am now carrying California Natural for dogs. This food is for dogs with allergies and sensitive stomaches. There are three varieties – the most popular being the Lamb and Rice.

Another great food being added to the line up very soon is the brand new Canadian food – Horizon Legacy. A great grain free food that is brand new to the market. If you are currently feeding grain free, this food is a fantastic one to rotate to.

As always I continue to look for the newest in fun toys, tasty treats and nutrition products for your pets. Stop on by and say hi!!

And remember, with the warmer weather your four legged friend needs special care to stay safe. Keep fresh water available at all times, never leave your pet in the car – even a few minutes can be deadly, and reduce long outside adventures when it is really hot.

If you need to cool your dog down quickly, concentrate on the belly and chest where all the major organs are. Use wet cold towels or a hose outside.

Have a safe and fun summer!

Summer Kid Activities: Swimming Leagues & Lessons

Seattle schools go on summer break on June 23rd, so many of you are probably looking for something to keep your school-aged kids busy and engaged for the next couple of months. The good news is that the city has a lot of openings for their summer swimming league here at our neighborhood pool.

Designed for kids ages 7-18, it provides an introduction to team swimming for novice swimmers. They’ll meet at Medgar Evers pool every morning at 8:30am from June 22nd through August 1st for an hour of swimming and instruction. More details and online signup is available at http://class.seattle.gov/parks/Activities/ActivitiesCourseDe

There’s other opportunities for elementary-school age kids who would like to start at the very beginning of swimming lessons. The city’s School of FISH program puts you in the water with your kid to learn beginning swimming skills such as water adjustment, floating, kicking, etc. The program runs every Saturday from 3:30 to 4pm at Medgar Evers pool, and this flyer contains a voucher for 10 free lessons for a family.

KONA mountain bike stolen

We live on 26th & Dearborn and just had one of our mountain bikes stolen from our garage. Whoever thought that the bike was more theirs than ours also dented and scratched my husband’s car in the garage while trying to get the bike. If anyone sees a dark green KONA brand, Cinder Cone model, hard tail mountain bike with normal pedals, please let us or the police know. We have filed a report with the police.
My husband is going to be a very lonely mountain biker until his wife gets her bike back.

The African-American Academy is scheduled to CLOSE on Juneteenth!

Acabo!

This is a time to pay tribute to the African-American history in the USA and in Seattle, WA After, 18 years the only Afro-centric based curriculum school in the NW will be closed. In January 2009 the SPS Board voted to end The African American Academy and occupy The AAA building with another school program.

This event will be the last event for our AAA program. So, please come join us. We would like to applaud the success of past/present scholars and families, who will always be apart of our village. Also, giving thanks to everyone who has supported the AAA community throughout the years.
-Thank you!

Apparent house casing reported by Mt. Baker CC

From: Pat Murakami To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, June 10, 2009 10:47:23 AM Subject: [MBCCCommunityNotices] IMMEDIATE ALERT –

31st Ave Area A young man of about high school age just went to a house in the 2300 block of 31st Ave S to ask a ‘sports question’. He did not identify himself to be with a school or doing a school project. He was carrying a clipboard and backpack. We believe he is casing houses where no one is home, particularly in light of the recent breakins. 9-1-1 has been called and they are dispatching a patrol car to try to find the young man. Please stay alert. Answer his knock but DO NOT OPEN your door. Talk to him through the door. Call 9-1-1 if he comes to your home and give as good a description as possible and the direction the young man heads after leaving your property.

10 cop cars at Madison and 24th this morning

My neighbor reported seeing (not kidding) TEN cop cars outside his house at 24th and Madison this morning about 8.30 am. In the back of one car was a perp, who he described as “some skinny little guy.” Are there any reports as to what this was? What happened?

Thanks!
