Jimi Hendrix Park and Sam Smith Parks at the Northwest African American Museum

The Breakfast Group, in partnership with The NW Black Pioneers,  Seattle Parks and Recreation, and the ROOTS Committee is sponsoring the 2013 ROOTS Family  Picnic.

 

This event is a social gathering in support of Closing the Generation Gap to strengthen family and community ties.

FREE Admission, Mini Museum Tours

Activities: Face Painting, Field Games, Mini Museum Tours, Live Music by Area Musicians, Special Community Appreciation Awards, Periodic Raffle Drawings for Fantastic Prizes,  Voices Oral History Project and A Special Food Table will be Hosted for Senior Citizens and MORE!!!

Your support of Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation on May 15th through The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG – an exiciting one-day, online charitable giving event , will fund the final design phase of Jimi Hendrix Park, “Are You Expereinced.” Donations made to nonprofits through The Seattle Foundation’s website on May 15th (midnight to midnight) will be stretched further thanks to The Seattle Foundation and GiveBIG sponsors, who will match a share of every contribution!

The winner will have an additional $1,000 and a pair of round-trip airline tickets, courtesy of Alaska Airlines, given in their name to the same nonprofit that received their donation. Group-goodThe Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation received a Certificate of Appreciation for its recent donation of $484,000 to Seattle Parks and Recreation to support  the development of Jimi Hendrix Park. The non-profit Foundation, with the assistance of the Friends of Jimi Hendrix Park, aims to raise $1.5 million in private funding  for the Park.
