The folks who bring you Central Sounds, the Central District’s hyperlocal weekly music show on Hollow Earth Radio, are hosting Open Grind tonight, 6-9 p.m. at the Hollow Earth studio at 21st and Union.
Open Grind is like an open mic with a beat. You are encouraged to take the mic or the turntables for a spin. So if you’ve got a spoken word piece or want to display your rapping skills, here’s your chance to do it.
The event is part of the month-long Magma Festival hosted by Hollow Earth Radio through March. Central Sounds airs on the Internet radio station every Wednesday from 9-11 p.m. It features music and interviews with artists, mostly from the neighborhood.
