The Stranger is reporting that an arrest has been made in the murder of Shannon Harps on New Years Eve. No details yet, but cdguy is going to the 4pm press conference to find out more.

Update: Just heard back from cdguy: The man under arrest is James Anthony Williams. He was already in custody of the state Department of Corrections after a parole investigation. Police claim that they have DNA evidence linking him with the crime. Police believe he had no connection to the victim and that it was a random murder.

Seattle police aren’t releasing any more information yet, but some other news outlets have dug up his picture. See King 5 for a scary example.
