CD News Police Scanner - 3/12

Last evening, Seattle Police arrested a non-affiliated male for investigation of armed robbery of a Seattle University student. At approximately 7 p.m., Campus Public Safety officers and Seattle Police responded to a report from a student who had his Nike high-top tennis shoes taken from him while walking at the intersection of 13th and E. Cherry. The victim reported that there were three suspects who approached him as he was carrying his tennis shoes and pack. One suspect told the victim, “Let me see your shoes,” and the victim noticed the suspect was holding a knife. The student held his shoes out and the suspect took them, then ran southbound on 13th Ave. The other two males apologized for their acquaintance, the suspect. The student immediately reported the incident to Campus Public Safety from a nearby residence hall. Campus Public Safety officers on patrol immediately fanned out into the area and spotted a possible suspect south of campus. CPS officers relayed the information to SPD officers arriving into the area. SPD officers stopped the possible suspect and found he was wearing the victim’s stolen tennis shoes, which was confirmed with the victim. The suspect was arrested for investigation of armed robbery and possession stolen property, and transported to the East Precinct for processing.
