A tree falls in Leschi, and power goes out in half of the CD – UPDATE: Power’s back

UPDATE: The power was all restored, says City Light:

@SEACityLight: Seattle City Light crews worked through the night and restored power to all Leschi area customers at 6:30 a.m. today.

Original story:

A tree fell on a power line in Leschi, causing a large power outage stretching as far west as 23rd Ave, north to Union and south to Jackson, according to @maggythebrave.

City Light estimates that the power will be restored by 1 a.m. For updates, check in with the City Light outage map.

UPDATE: From City Light:

@SEACityLight: City Light crews have restored power to all but about 788 customers in Leschi area.

  1. our power was back on at 7:10pm– not sure if this is true for all those who lost power but i have to give a shout-out to City Light for getting it back on so fast! :)

  2. I came home this evening to find that the power had gone out–clocks flashing the wrong time, etc.

    I’m actually near 24th and Union. It’s much further north and west than the map indicates! :-)
