After busy year, a holiday note from Casa Latina

Casa Latina recently celebrated the opening of their campus expansion on Jackson. The organization is making ambitious attempts to grow its ability to serve workers, and they urged people to help them succeed. From Casa Latina:

Dear friends,

In this season celebrating hope, family, community, and giving, Casa Latina has much to be grateful for.

2012 has been an incredible year for Casa Latina—a time of both growth and challenge as we realize our dream of building a new facility that represents hope and stability for our constituents, a home for opportunity for Latino immigrants.

With support from allies and our community, we took a calculated risk and have stretched as an organization, moving forward with our capital campaign while continuing to focus resources on our core programs.

While we have so much to be grateful for, we know that these are still very tough times for those we serve.

Casa Latina provides job dispatch services, job safety and skills training, English and computer classes, and advocacy to Latino immigrants. More important, we offer a nurturing and caring community for our members, helping to ease the challenges of being in a new and unfamiliar place, away from friends and family, while working hard to create better lives for themselves and those they love.

Your gift of support is critical to the work we do. We rely on your help to keep our doors open and lights on, and to ensure that those we serve have access to the programs and services that improve their lives.

Muchas gracias,

Hilary Stern

Executive Director
