SPD searches for suspects after 20th Ave pistol-whip robbery

A victim reported being held-up by two pistol packing robbers late Thursday night just before 11:30p. SPD fanned out in the area around the 700 block of 20th Ave near where the robbery reportedly occurred and a K9 unit was called to the scene.

The suspect description provided via police radio was extremely limited. Police were looking for two black males, possibly in their 20s and wearing all black. The victim reported being “pistol whipped” by the suspects. The victim told police that one shot was fired in the altercation.

This information is based on SPD radio communications and has not yet been confirmed.

  1. But if you hit me then I’ll hit you back
Smack me and I’ll smack you back
If you scratch me here I’ll scratch you there
Rob me and I’ll rob you back?
    Awe, put lotion on me!

If the thieves are victims of gentrification, let’s hurry up and gentrify them the eff out of the neighborhood.

  2. Who said the “victim” was a gentrifier? Most “Gentrifiers” are not getting off the bus at 11:30pm. We go to bed at 10, 11 on Fridays.

Nothing is said of the victim at all. We might assume he was carrying something that the criminals were particularly interested in – drugs or cash. They don’t walk up and pistol wip gentrifiers. We don’t have much cash (we live by the debit card, it neutralizes the gun) and we wear timex ironman watches, cool to us, but worthless on the street.

If the story doesn’t tell much. Let’s make up the rest in a plausible way.

  3. gentrifier is just an Occupy buzzword that they throw out there every once in a while. I guess because someone has a laptop, a camera and some money in their wallet, that makes them a gentrifier?…sounds like the same thing an Occupy member would have in their backpack.

  4. What victim? We don’t know anything about this person at all. Two young black men beat up a non-desript person and take something the imaginary person may or may not have had. Sounds like a good reason to go frisk some black kids.

Now do we believe everything the police say. Maybe they just make this stuff up. Apparently they lie about the existence of anarchists and run around beating up gays, mexicans, and blacks for no reason.

What do you choose to believe when the story has no meat? It all seems to be make believe. Just kidding, but, that’s where the story leads.

  5. Why even respond to this ignorant jackass troll and their moronic comments written to try and piss you off.

  8. You all make me sad. Every time I read an article on CDN, Gumbo trolls it. You all respond and give him what he wants and it is quite pathetic. It reminds me of how pre teens act on Facebook. I would like to think that those of us “gentrifiers” ACTUALLY interested in making the CD a decent place to raise a family, could act with a bit more tact and respect.

This is the ONLY blog for CD and frankly, it is piss poor journalism. I can understand wanting to report quickly so that your readers can stay informed, but if ALL your articles contain this amount of misinformation what is the point? Seems to me these articles just cause a stir, and don’t even propose a solution. Be proactive, hound the SPD until we get the protection and consideration that QA or Magnolia (or even the Hill) get.

Do I expect my words to change a thing here? … Loaded question, since what I expect is for you all to act like adults … (not holding my breath any longer). The answer is no, plain and simple … I just lose more faith with each article (or lack thereof) and the bickering, hate mongering comments that accompany them.

  9. Wow loser. That’s about the most depressing and unhelpful mindset I have heard yet. Do you have no ability understand dialog amongst your neigbors. There is a lot of positive information being passed here. You need some professionaly help to get out of your depression, I don’t mean that as a slam. We all need help sometimes. Good luck.

  10. GRUMBO:
You name call and then say, “I don’t mean that as a slam.” You continue to display your maturity on a daily basis, making my point. “Dialogue between neighbors” quite often involves the majority of commenters on the articles I read asking you to be a positive force (much like the “I’m so innocent” tone you try to pass off in the latter part of your reply). Occasionally, there is a tidbit, here or there, of “positive information being passed here.” RARELY, if ever, does it involve you!

Since you were so inclined as to diagnose a professional in the psych industry as “depressed,” I have a few suggestions to help you out (after having quite the laugh at your ignorant diagnosis):

    1) Relax, step outside, and get off your computer. Counting to ten and might help you refrain from allowing your anger (most likely a secondary emotion) to take over. Perhaps you could speak to someone face-to-face and learn some respect. It’s much harder to call someone names to their face.

    2) If it’s not too much to ask, take a grammar class, or read a book. I mean spelling words like “dialogue”, “neighbors”, and “professionally” really isn’t that difficult. Being that you try your best to pass off some iota of intelligence/authority around here it might be in your best interests.

I really hope this exposure will help you in the long run. For I really don’t have the time to quarrel with you via the neighborhood blog. Like I mentioned once before, I usually hold my tongue when it comes to your hate mongering on this site, and I am a business professional. Try as you might to antagonize, you wont see another response from me.

Now get outside and enjoy this nice warm weather, while the rest of us go back to work from lunch break and support out families!

  11. I’ll take the risk to diagnose Hasius as lacking a sense of humor….

I’m so sorry you find it necessary to take Grumbo so straight and seriously…. I personally find that he’s got a pretty good sense of irony and is relatively witty, so I can over look typos.. And I generally find if you read between the lines he’s got good points to make too. Just because he can be a bit abrasive doesn’t put me off of the message.

  12. HC, i would take your comment seriously, but your lack of grammar is appalling. please proofreed you comments closerly when you post. a few examples of your terible wordingthingies:

    1. mispelled ‘our’ with ‘out’ (last sentence)
    2. no ‘ in wont. i meant won’t
    3. superfluous articles and conjunctions everywhere , especially ‘and’
    4. poor use of commas with compound predicates. google that if you dont know what it means please.
    5. several other typos and mispellings – please proofe reader when you post.

    thanks.

  13. Did I just get corrected on the few typos I made typing on a cell phone by the man who forgets to put an “r” at the end of “you” to make it a possessive adjective? This, from the same man who misspells the words: closely, proofread, terrible, and misspelled. Clearly, you showed me! Apparently Grumbo has a partner in whine. :) It would help if you could proofread your own comments before you toss your bachelors degree into the ring and get your panties into a bunch. My whole point seems to have been missed by those of you who have nothing more to do than argue all day on CDN. As you can see by the late response, some of us have work to do.

  14. @Leons Mother.

I’m not a complainer – just missunderstood. sniffle.

The spelling fascists are all about superiorty complexes. They frequently seem unable to get past small hurdles and fail to comprehend the content. They seem to have no ability to fit things into context like us more creative but less precise beings.
