Seattle Nativity School Feasibility Info Session/Potential New Middle School

The Seattle Nativity School (SNS) Feasibility Committee is hosting an information session for organizations on May 3rd (at 5:30 pm) and one for the community on May 14th (at 5:30 pm) at the 2100 Building (2100 24th Avenue South, Seattle).   The meeting will be an opportunity to learn about a new middle school (5th-8th grade) that is potentially coming to the Seattle Central/South Districts in 2012. The school will be tuition-free, academically rigorous and  co-ed school and focus on science, technology, and languages.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend the event on Saturday, May 14th (refreshments will be served). Community organizations that are interested should attend the event on Tuesday, May 3rd.

NativityMiguel schools are the embodiment of “school reform in action”. The Seattle Nativity School Feasibility Committee is studying if this successful model can be replicated in Seattle. In operation for 40 years and now encompassing more than 62 schools across the country, the NativityMiguel model has been applying programs that are now receiving attention at the national level. These programs include small class sizes, extended days, full-year educational offerings, challenging curriculum, graduate assistance and holistic relationships with at-risk, low income students, their parents/guardians and their communities.

The session will be presented by members from the Seattle Nativity School Feasibility Committee and will be an informal presentation.
