Property stolen in large Leschi building burglary worth thousands

Several offices and storage units in a building on Lakeside Ave near Lake Washington Blvd were burglarized late last week, according to police. Officers responded the morning of April 15 and determined the burglar (or burglars) made off with thousands of dollars worth of property.

From the SPD Blotter:

On April 15th at approximately 8:15 a.m. officers responded to the 120 block of Lakeside Avenue for a reported forced-entry commercial burglary.  The suspect(s) were gone upon the officers’ arrival.  Investigating officers located the main floor office building which contains six rented out office spaces.  Five office spaces had been broken into and one office was found ransacked.

Attached to the main floor office building were multiple storage units to an attached apartment complex.  Seven of these storage units were burglarized.  On the basement level of the business, there was a parking garage, also containing multiple storage units.  One vehicle had been prowled, nine storage units were burglarized and a bicycle was stolen.  Multiple victims were contacted and their stolen and damaged property, which amounted to thousands of dollars, was documented.

Burglary detectives along with SPD fingerprint specialists responded to the scene and assisted investigating officers with evidence collection.  The suspect(s) remain at large.

This remains an active and on-going burglary investigation.
