Just asked the nice man selling fake magazines to leave my house. This just happened on Temple Place. Please beware that he is selling free mags and the usual story is that he is fundraising to help Garfield Students do a neighborhood clean up.

He was around 21st & Union last week. He asked if I’d like to donate a few dollars like my neighbors had to help with a Garfield HS neighborhood cleanup. He had some thin magazines with him but I didn’t get a good look at them. I said, “Actually, our daughter goes to Garfield,” and he said okay and booked it off my property. I was suspicious that he left so hurriedly, wondering if there was something he was afraid I’d know, being a GHS parent. Apparently there was.
Thanks for the tip.
yup, he was definitely on 21st.
I’m pretty sure this is the same guy who comes up with various stories (need $$ for locksmith, etc) to get cash door to door. He hit us with that story last December I think.
The locksmith scam belongs to Patrick, the “gay black man from Bellevue.” The magazine guy is notable for his incredibly fast talk and his charm.
