We had a pretty great summer lineup of festivals, music, art, and theater. This may be your last chance to catch some of the action before winter sets in for its nine month stay.
Here’s four fun events scheduled for Saturday afternoon:
- Noon – 1pm – The BluWater Bistro Duck Derby – Buy your $5 duck and watch to see if it wins the race on the Leschi waterfront, with a chance to win several cool prizes. All proceeds benefit the memorial for Officer Tim Brenton.
- Noon – 3pm – Puppets in Parks – The Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center is hosting live puppet shows in Flo Ware Park. Totally free, and fun entertainment for the wee ones.
- Noon – 5pm – Second Saturday Art Walk – The fourth and final art walk of the 2010 season adds several new venues, including the Twilight Exit (CDNews sponsor) and the CDForum Open House at 1404 E. Yesler Way. As always, the hub of neighborhood art activity will be in the 2300 block of Cherry.
- 1pm – 4pm – ParkFest at Powell Barnett Park – Some fun community music is planned for Powell Barnett Park, with Banda Vagos, KlezterBalm, and the Garfield Drumline
Want to get some publicity for your community event? Add it for free to our community calendar.
Why is every festival in town this Saturday afternoon? It’s also the Zoo’s member appreciation day and the Salmon Return Family Festival at the Olympic Sculpture Park (just in case your readers weren’t already overwhelmed with choices).
add the Central area Senior Sliders to the Powell Barnett Fun. Unfortunately the Garfield Drumline had to cancel.
Klezterbalm (playing klezmer music) will also be performing. Should be great fun.
