You may have noticed a change if you’ve driven up Cherry Street towards 12th Avenue. The small blue house that has been at that location since 1900 has been torn down, with excavators out doing the final cleanup this morning.
Seattle University owns the property and called it the St. James House. It has been vacant in recent months, and was previously the home of the University’s international student programs.
Seattle U officials tell us that the location will temporarily serve as construction staging for the upcoming work on the university’s new fitness center.
We could have moved that somewhere.
