Cool stuff to check out at the Second Saturday Art Walk

The garages across from the Garfield Community Center are all open, with a number of artists showing off their work at the first of the monthly neighborhood art walks. We saw two artists with some really good paintings of Seattle scenes, an artisanal beer brewer giving tastings, live music from an acoustic guitar player, and tasty sweets from Street Treats.

The two letterpress operators are very cool too. One let us print our own bookmark on the huge steel press, and we found a nice Father’s Day card to put in the mail this week.

Stop by and check it out at 24th & Cherry, with more at the three participating coffee shops around the neighborhood.

  1. I went to this! It was great. I see a lot of potential. It’s a great start and I hope it expands this year and in the coming years.

  2. They are planning to do this the Second Saturday of each month through the end of Summer – be sure to check it out, everyone!

  3. This is a great reminder to check out Scott’s Friday post of the coming weekend’s activities. The Second Saturday Artwalk was featured there and in its own story the end of last week.

  4. I’m a new artist in the Neighborhood, My wife and I live down the street, and I was wondering does anyone know how I can be a part of this art walk? I show my work all over the Nortwest and would loce to do so in my own backyard:)
