Juvenile Shooting Suspect Arrested

Good news: yesterday Seattle police arrested a 16 year old suspect from Monday’s shootings in the south end and at 26th & Jackson.  Police also recovered a handgun and impounded the suspect vehicle.

Here’s the short blurb from SPD’s blog:

On April 21st, Seattle Police detectives arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with a double shooting that occurred the previous day.  The suspect was taken into custody at 5:34 p.m.without incident in the 5600 block of Beacon Avenue S.

A handgun was recovered and placed into evidence.  The suspect vehicle was impounded to the SPD Processing Room.  The suspect was brought to SPD Headquarters for questioning and then later booked into Youth Service Center for Investigation of Assault.

  1. Assault is all you get charged with these days for shooting two people? These shootings are never going to end unless there are more severe punishments…..how about assault w/ deadly weapon; assault w/ intent to kill…..just sayin…

  2. Three 16 years olds beat a man to death and got 3-72 weeks—WEEKS– in juvenile detention.
They’ll be back on the streets soon.

  3. “Three 16 years olds beat a man to death and got 3-72 weeks—WEEKS– in juvenile detention.”

Well, he was playing his tuba too loud, he’s gonna get his ** busted. Same for watering traffic circles.

  4. “they’re just misunderstood and oppressed by Society. Give them a break”

You’re absolutely right – let the kids shoot a few more people and beat a couple more people so badly that they die a few days later. We should definitely give these kids a break. Come on.

  5. They made a horrible decision. I think they did get a break. I know this has changed many lives. Like the Tuba Man they too have friends, moms, dads, grandmothers, sisters and brothers. All were very involved in thier lives and worked had to keep them in school and involved in sports. I know all three. One was an honor student in H.S. with a very involved mother. I don’t like what happened but they went through the system and this was their sentence. Accept it. You don’t have to like it but this is our system. One that fails many. What are you doing to help make our community safer. What’s your investment in kids? Get up and get involved. They need positive people involved, especially males. What are you going to do?

  6. They made a blog entry. Give them a break. Even if you don’t like the comment accept it. You don’t have to like it but this is the blog. One that fails many. What are you doing to help make our it better? What are you going to do? Also what does it mean to insist they need to be involved with kids because these 3 kids had many people involved?

  7. The bottom line is regardless how many people are involved, or not, kids can’t be supervised 24 7. When they leave home you hope and pray they make the right decisions. God help them all. This world is very crazy.

  8. What eventually will happen is these teen “Hood Rats” is going to approach the wrong person who has a firearm and and their a$$es will be laying in a pool of blood .
Then their parents will cry and wail that he was a good kid and did not deserve to shot like that .
These same parents do not raise their children let them run buck wild in the streets until they kill people like the “Tubaman” and others.
Excuses should not be accepted for these kind of callous acts of violence .
These teens who killed Tubaman will get the same violence in return when they get out of juvvy jail because the streets will turn on them they are caught up in a lifestyle of violence .

    Double “J”
