More Changes Coming to 34th in Madrona

Remember that controversial project we talked about a few months ago in Madrona?   A developer has filed plans to tear down the single-family house to the south of it and build a new structure with ground floor retail and office space above.

The development notice calls for a 3-story building with 1,500 square feet of retail space at street level, and 6,300 square feet of office space.   They’re also planning for 3 parking spaces on the surface.

The neighbors of the other project were most upset about the scale (3 stories, boxy) and parking access (via a small rear alley) of that design.  This one would appear to have similar features, so it’ll be interesting to see if it causes as big of a stir.

A design review will be required for the project.  We’ll let you know when it’s scheduled.
