Man Who Killed Pedestrian Involved in ID Theft

Remember the incident on January 4th where a woman was struck and killed while crossing 23rd at Dearborn? Police said at the time that the driver was cooperating with the investigation.

But now I’m guessing that he’s starting to regret that cooperation, since investigators have stumbled upon his possible involvement in an identity theft ring. The Seattle PI reports that police were searching his car after the accident and found stolen credit cards and other financial account information that didn’t belong to the suspect. In fact, there was a 42-inch TV in the back of the truck that had been purchased that day with a Minnesota woman’s credit card. The suspect was convicted of identity theft in 2004 for buying a big-screen TV with a fraudulent credit account.
