The Seattle Fire Department had a big response to a fire in the 2400 block of S. Judkins St. shortly after 3pm today. I spoke to Helen Fitzpatrick from the fire department, who said that they extinguished a mattress fire and that there were no injuries involved. No cause was immediately available, but fire investigators were on the scene.
One impact was to the #4 bus line that travels on that street. A couple of buses were backed up and had to wait about 45 minutes for the fire trucks to clear the area before they could continue on their trolley route.
