Stolen Vehicle
-
Officers are stopped with an occupied stolen vehicle. Requested fast backup, so there's officers flying around, converging from all directions.
Update:
They checked the vehicle, and are taking the suspect to the vehicle's owner for an ID in the 1500 block of 14th Ave.

Someone called from the $.99 store to report a man acting strangely inside the business. There was also some background commotion that operators could hear.

A large group of juveniles are gathering near the Teen Life Center at Garfield. They just got out of a memorial for the victim of Friday's shooting.

A witness saw a man with a gun walking southbound on 28th, then heard several shots. Black male, 6' tall, black jacket, possibly with a hoody.
Update:
Another caller says the shots came from a green 4-door vehicle that was last seen eastbound on Jackson
Update x2:
Multiple conflicting descriptions & directions of travel on involved vehicles. Another caller says they saw a vehicle speed off fast, northbound on 30th. It was a maroon Ford Explorer. License plate matches a white '97 Ford Explorer
Update x3:
Police have contacted a victim in 2700 block of S. Lane who was shot at but not hit. They confirmed it came from a maroon Explorer.

Another witness says they saw the vehicle going northbound on 31st from Jackson

Shots fired from 28th & Jackson, westbound, towards the corner store. There may be a magazine on the ground there.

Suspect may have been wearing a white jacket. Black male, teens, with a street name that is the same as a baseball great & cartoon character

5:04pm - Police have spotted a vehicle that matches the suspect description heading southbound from MLK & Dearborn

A "very credible witness" at 27th & Jackson says there was also another shooter on foot.

Police stopped the vehicle from update 7 above at MLK & McClellan. They checked the vehicle and it ended up clear and was released

There were two people shooting at each other. One on foot at the corner of 28th & Jackson, one in the vehicle which is varyingly described as either a Maroon Ford Explorer or a older 4-door sedan. Suspect on foot was a black male, 20s green jacket & jeans, who ran southbound on 28th, then west on S. King.

A man is down in the roadway. Appears to be a car vs. bicyclist accident. Medics on the way. Male, 50, conscious & alert.

Another shots fired call, this one in the area of Pratt Park. Caller says they hear someone screaming too.

Another caller reports hearing multiple shots fired near 17th & Jackson
Update x2:
E. Precinct command requesting officers from West Precinct to come help out the various calls. I think it's probably about time to make those transfers permanent, yes?

5:44pm - Pratt Park is checking clear. No sign of problems
Update x4:
Witness says that there were 15-20 black male youths in the area near the stairs by 17th. They heard two shots, and saw a victim get hit and then run up towards 20th & Yesler. Then they heard 3rd shot coming from the group of youth.
Update x5:
Another officer spoke to a second witness who saw the victim who was shot at 19th & Yesler and could name him. Officers are on foot in the park to see if they can find that victim. Operators also asked to alert Harborview in case he's headed that way.

Pratt Park checks completely clear - no victim found
Update x7:
Police are working off of a name for a 15 year old kid who lives in the 200 block of 23rd Ave and has been involved in previous fights at Garfield
