The intersection is blocked off by many active police cars. Does anyone know why?

The Fire Department was responding to an aid call in front of the old Philly’s, and something happened that made them request a fast police backup. We heard that one man was taken into custody, but we couldn’t tell what the root cause was.
We were driving to Cinema Cafe just as all the police cars were arriving (right around 6:30). I don’t know what happened, but there were *a lot* of police at the intersection.
