Colman School Apartments Almost Done

It’s been a school, a live-in protest site, and for a long time just a vacant old building. But now the Seattle Times reports that it’s almost ready to be a home for 36 median-income families. The apartments feature 14-foot ceilings, exposed brick, and a lot of the charm of the original 1909 building. Studios start at just $649 a month, but there’s a maximum income limit of $46,740 per year to qualify.

In March the first floor of the building will open as the Northwest African American Museum.
