Elderly man assaulted at 12th and Jackson, does not know why
An elderly man was attacked in the middle of the street at 12th and Jackson around 8 p.m. March 17, according to the police report. The victim told police he got off the bus at 12th and King and saw the suspect standing in a nearby parking lot, staring at him. He did not recognize the suspect, so he just walked away.
As he was crossing 12th, however, the suspect attacked him. From the police report:
How incredibly sad. What does Ted Howard or SPD Officer Benny have to say about the GHS violence? Gangs are tolerated at GHS and Spruce is a haven for violence against students. It should be patrolled before and after school. Just parking there to drop off my kid I have seen numerous fights and drug dealing. Benny, patrol Spruce! Jeez.
