Solicitor alert! Door-to-door meat salesman. White, dark hair, mustache, Southern accent (offered that he’s from Tennessee).
Says he’s from Iowa Steak. Offered me steak. Said I don’t eat meat, so he offered me fish. Fish from Iowa Steak was not tempting. He’s working his way up the street here in Judkins Park. I Googled him and found talk of Iowa Steak on the West Seattle Blog, and several “scam” hits as well.
Saw the Iowa Steak truck parked in the Garfield neighborhood on 25th Ave last night around 6:30pm.
Kept trying to name some food I might like until I told him I didn’t need ANYTHING!!!! No truck visible. Maybe just casing. 24th Avenue north of E. Union.
Iowa steak is a direct marketing company, kind of like avon or mary kay, only for meat… While odd and of somewhat questionable taste, not necessarily a scam.

These guys sell extremely low-quality meat. They are not the Mary Kay of meat, they are the Scientology of meat. AVOID THEM.
