Giddens School and Valley School

I’m considering the Giddens School and the Valley School for my son. He’ll be preschool age. Anybody want to share their experiences with either of these schools?

  1. We toured both schools for preschool and kindergarten and passed on both. I found Giddens too cold and clinical and Valley did not take any steps to prevent gender stereotyping in their curriculum nor materials. They also have a playground that anyone can walk into (lax security). My daughter ended up going to New Discovery for preschool which was FANTASTIC! Unfortunately they have since moved over the water to Wallingford. But if you are willing to make the drive, it is a school that provides a very warm, secure and enriching environment. Their music program is second to none and the curriculum promotes creative thinking.
