Okay, campers, rise and shine

Central Cinema is showing Groundhog Day twice this evening in honor of today’s holiday. Clearly, it would be most proper to go to both the 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. showings. Nothing like hearing people quote the same lines to the same movies in the same theater on Groundhog Day! (P.S. It’s a quote-along showing)

Anyone?)

CENTRAL CINEMA IS SHOWING GROUNDHOG DAY TWICE THIS EVENING!!! ISN’T THAT THE GREATEST THING YOU HAVE EVER HEARD IN YOUR ENTIRE FREAKING LIFE? YOU WANNA KNOW WHY? BECAUSE SOMEONE MADE A MOVIE ABOUT A LITTLE RODENT, AND NOW I AM READING THE SAME STORY OVER AND OVER AND NO ONE CARES. NO ONE. YOU ALL DISGUST ME.

Central Cinema …

Central …

Okay, I get it, it’s a good movie. But I’ve seen it every year for more than a decade.

But I suppose it does have a lot of good values. And it is a pretty unique way of using film to tell an almost spiritual story.

Come to think of it, Groundhog Day comes up in my life more than most of the movies I have watched. I guess it really resonated with the core of my being.

Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, Central Cinema brings you a film of the finest quality. With the first magical screening at 7, followed by an encore at 9:30, this theater (a CDN sponsor) brings you an almost divine expression of the human condition. The film’s message of repetition, rebirth and selflessness is kin to a Buddhist prayer.

  1. The 7:00 show is already full. There is still room at the 9:30. It is going to be a rowdy way to mark the end of winter….almost

  2. we hold this tradition at our house – it’s a must see movie on Feb 2nd every year!
How fun that it’s in the theater!!
