A child around 9 or 10 grabbed a woman’s handbag on the Metro 8 bus and ran away, according to the police report. The incident occurred October 28 near 23rd and Yesler.
The victim told police she was sitting on the 8 and had her gold-colored handbag on the seat next to her. As the kid walked by, he allegedly grabbed the purse. One of the two teenagers with the boy told him to “give it back,” but they exited the bus with the purse.
The victim exited after them and pleaded with the suspects to return the handbag, which contained her ID, Social Security Card and about $6. The suspects ran away.
The suspect who stole the bag was described as a black male with short curly hair. The second suspect was described as a 17-year-old black male with a two or three-inch afro. The third suspect was described as a 15-year-old black male with short hair. All three suspects were wearing North Face jackets.
