Youth in Focus Bowlathon

Youth in Focus: BOWL-A-THON 2010!

Roll the ball, hear the thunder, make the moolah!

This year’s bowl-a-thon fundraiser will be Saturday Oct. 23, from at 12 Noon at AMF Imperial Lanes at 2101 22nd Ave South. Our goal is to raise at least $15,000. These funds are a critical part of Youth in Focus’ ability to provide high-quality photography classes and mentoring to underserved teens in the Seattle community — totally free.

This year’s theme is Black & White, in honor of our fun yet totally archaic love of Black & White photography and darkroom photo printing. Wear any outfit or costume of your choosing that combines those two colors and you’ll fit right in.

How the fundraising works: You get other people to sponsor you, either per-pin (ie 10¢ per pin) or for a flat amount like $25. If it’s a flat amount, then you collect the cash before the Bowl-a-thon and turn it in when you arrive; if its a per-pin amount, then you’d follow up with sponsors after the Bowl-a-thon since what they pay depends on your bowling score. We’ve set individual fundraising goals at $150; at the very least, folks need to bring $10 to cover the cost of their bowling.

All the paperwork and pledges/cash get turned in on the day of the event (except per-pin pledges of course, which are due by Nov. 10.)
