Hi Spot Cafe to serve brunch cocktails

Neighborhood institution the Hi Spot Cafe has applied for a hard liquor license and could be serving Bloody Marys within a month, according to owner Mike Walker.

The breakfast, brunch and lunch spot currently serves beer and wine, but Walker is looking to expand the beverage menu to include both traditional brunch cocktails and drinks with freshly squeezed juices.

All the paperwork has been filed, so barring any unforeseen hangups the drinks will arrive just in time for warm weather, the better for you to recover from a rough night out with a little hair-of-the-dog on Hi Spot’s outdoor patio.

  1. The Hi-Spot has had delicious mimosas for years – served on ice which seems odd, but is perfect on a sunny Sunday morning!
