The Central District is about to say hello to our newest restaurant, with the new Cheeky Cafe scheduled to open this Tuesday at 5pm. The restaurant is located in the corner spot of the new CADA apartment building at 17th & Jackson.
We drove by on Friday and found the staff hard at work training for the big opening. THe interior is bright and open, with seating for about 40.
Wendy Wong, the restaurant’s owner, told us that they’ll be starting off with dinner service, and will add lunch service a few weeks later.

The initial story published in January said Cheeky was going to serve “American comfort food for breakfast and lunch” — you know, omelets, hashbrowns, bacon. Is this still planned? A potential breakfast joint is what I was most exited about.
no breakfast food- and the food is more asian comfort food based on their grandmothers recipes. breakfast is coming at the end of the month I believe.
