Hey neighbors, please remember to pot up/divide/start plants for the upcoming
Free Plant Exchange Saturday April 24th and the
“CD Public Art Fundraiser Plant Sale” at the CD Garden Tour Saturday May 22nd.
The May 22nd Garden Tour is shaping up nicely and we’ll post details closer to the event. The CD Public Art Project will mostly happen in 2011. Stay tuned.
I’m so interested, who do we speak with?
Do you have general questions? Could you post them here in case someone else has the same question(s)? Meanwhile, here’s a general overview:
The Plant Exchange is 10-2pm April 24th at the CopyMaster parking lot, 20th & E Union. If you have plants to donate, simply come by and drop them off (labels and growing instructions welcome). If you want/need plants, come pick some up. Past exchanges have featured everything from house plants to small trees. No one keeps score, beginners are welcome, and the goal is to have no plants left at 2pm. Donations for NW Harvest, St Mary’s or CAMP food banks will also be collected.
The Plant Sale at the center of the 8th Annual CD Garden Tour, GT10, will be at 23rd & E Union, 11-4pm May 22, 2010. Donated plants (labels and instructions welcome) will be sold at reasonable prices. Non-perishable food items will again be collected. We need volunteers to staff the Garden Tour ticket ($5)/Plant Sale tables. Proceeds and City Dept of N’hoods matching grant monies for volunteer hours will go toward creating public art in the Central District, a 2011 project. That one will generate GT11 as well as welcome lots and lots of volunteers.
