It’s supposed to be a gorgeous Memorial Day weekend, with solid sun and temperatures around 70. Here’s some stuff in the ‘hood that you can get out and enjoy:
Friday at 3pm – The neighborhood farmers market has it’s second day of the season. A good chance to find all-natural makings for your weekend barbeque.
Friday and Saturday at 8pm – The New City Theater next to Tougo on 18th is performing “The Last Letter”. Carolyn gives them a thumbs up, but says to get there early.
Saturday at 9am – What better way to enjoy the sun than out at the Clean Greens Farm? Your weekly chance to pitch in on a great community project
Saturday at 10am – Check out neighborhood businesses and get free admission to the Northwest African American Museum during the 1st Annual Central District Community Resource Fair
Sunday at 3pm – Central Cinema (a CDNews sponsor) is hosting the production party for Star Kids, an independent film that tries to reach out with positive values for at-risk youth. It’s free, but recommended you reserve a ticket
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7pm and 9:30pm – Central Cinema is showing a classic this week: Casablanca
I think the spray features at Pratt will be turned on tomorrow. Depending on weather…
Unfortunately, no wading pool at Powell Barnett this year.
