It’s a big May Day weekend in the neighborhood – here’s some fun stuff to check out:
Friday at 3pm: May Day rally and march at Judkins Park. Not a May Day’er? Beware of multi-hour traffic issues near the park and along Jackson St. to downtown.
Friday at 8pm: The Young Eight, noted as America’s only professional string octet, will perform at Seattle U. Should be a fun classical event.
Saturday at noon: Leschi Community Council is sponsoring an afternoon of food, games, and music at Flo Ware Park at 28th & Jackson.
Saturday at noon: Garfield is hosting a regional drum line competition. Never heard a drum line? They’re fantastically entertaining, so check it out.
Saturday at 2pm: The Bottleneck Lounge (a CDNews sponsor) is hosting their big Kentucky Derby party, with mint juleps, festive hats, and tasty food from Skillet.
