Under “Individual School and Program Community Meetings” the community meetings below are scheduled. The intro to these meetings indicates that principals are organizing them for communities that they feel are most affected by the preliminary recommendations.
These seem a little off the radar as they are not formal hearings, but certainly the ones at Madrona, Leschi, Thurgood Marshall, and Montlake are all within the Central Cluster and the all-district draws, Summit K-12 and African American Academy may also be of interest. Since there seem to be endless meetings, hopefully they will be very informative.

but totally mismanaged. this process appears to many to be lurching, going from one meeting to the next and changing the tune.
SPS has created more enemies than friends in this process, and they had very few of the latter to begin with.
Friends are always good. Yes, while I am always skeptical, last night’s meeting definitely made the superintendent appear desperate to do something and not very thoughtful while continuing to speak the language of “intentional and thoughtful.” I am still a supporter of public education but just wonder at this process. I hope the Board is able to rise to the occasion to sort this mess out.
