Does anyone know what was going on on S. Washington between 21st S and 20th S. this morning between 8 am and 9:30? There were several police cars and bike units in front of my place. The activity was at either 2019 or 2023 S. Washington. I called SPD records and the East Precinct and they have no information. It appears to have been too early to have to do with the Quizno’s robbery.
We listened to the scanner recordings from around then, but they never said what the original problem was (probably computer dispatched). It was originally a member of the Community Policing Team on site at around 9:15, and she requested additional units to respond (two in cars and one on a bike who happened to be in the area).
They searched the inside of the house after the backup arrived. There was a transmission at 9:22 warning an officer that they had “one hiding in the back”. About a minute later the situation was reported as under control.
The guy sitting in the minivan at 26th & Norman (11:09 a.m.) brings to mind some emails coming across the CNAChat listserv yesterday. On Sunday morning betw 10:30 and 12:30, some people in that general area were broken into (electronics and a yellow messenger bag taken). Others reported seeing a suspicious teen duo peering over fences and knocking on doors on Sunday morning.
So, be aware, the break-ins are continuing, this week in Judkins Park.
Still no info at SPD. Go figure.
Once an officer writes a report with their new system, it typically takes 4-6 hours for that electronic report to be transcribed and logged. The E Precinct clerk can’t pull up a paper copy until it’s transcribed. Have a little patience, I’m sure you’ll figure out what happened soon enough.
I guess we don’t get enough condensation in Seattle! Thx for the info.
