CDNews friend Carolyn sent us a note about this Seattle Times article covering Garfield basketball star Tony Wroten’s performance on team USA, which is currently playing in Europe:

Tony Wroten Jr. of Garfield High School scored nine points for the United States on Monday, but his biggest contribution came on defense in a 113-73 victory over China at the U17 World Championship.

Wroten was named the team last month at tryouts in Texas, and has scored big points in all three of the teams wins so far.

Wroten has offers from a number of top colleges, including Kansas, Kentucky, and UW.
