CDNews Police Scanner - 10/9

Here's all the excitement from Seattle's east precinct on Thursday, October 9th, 2008:

10:05AM - Harvard & E. Pike - Theft - A man tried to steal a bag from someone on the street. Several citizens are trying to hold him down until police arrive. Update: The caller "thinks the suspect may be tied or cuffed now"
10:36AM - 1600 E. Cherry - Car Prowl - A woman's car was broken into. She was only gone for about 15 minutes when the break-in happened.
10:39AM - 1000 E. Denny Way - Disturbance - The county is trying to evict a man from his apartment, but he's refusing to come out.
Update: 11:31 - Police are now responding to this after it escalated to a possible suicide situation. The man says he's armed with a shotgun.
Update x2: 11:36 - Traffic will be blocked on Denny
Update x3: 11:39 - Bike officers are also clearing Cal Anderson Park - evidently it could be in the firing zone. The suspect here is a white male, 39, 5'10", 150.
Update x4: Crusty Cops says: "You'll have to repeat [the last radio transmission]. I've got a hysterical female here."
Update x5: More and more police are coming onto the scene, taking up positions around the building. E. Precinct leadership are setting up a command post nearby.
Update x6: 12:07pm - SWAT team is on the scene, and there's a report that a county Sheriff is in contact with the suspect
Update x7: 12:10pm - The suspect has been taken into custody. Police are now clearing the apartment.
Update x8: 12:16pm - Apartment checks clear, the stand-off is over, and containment is being released
Update x9: 12:24pm - AMR ambulance requested at the scene to transport the man to Harborview for involuntary commitment
10:41AM - 1410 E. John - Shoplifting - Man in custody at Safeway
1:38PM - 500 Broadway - Assault - Man assaulted by someone he let stay with him. Suspect is a black male, 43, going by the name of a very large US city
1:46PM - 1401 Broadway - Shoplifting - Person in custody at QFC
2:10PM - 300 Broadway E - Robbery - Man says he was robbed a knife point. Suspects last seen running northbound. Two hispanic males, late 20s, one in a brown leather jacket, green/brown striped shirt.
2:40PM - 1100 E. Union - Alarm - Police checking on an audible alarm on a property
3:07PM - 1401 Broadway - Shoplifting - Man in custody at QFC
3:53PM - 900 E. Union - Suspicious Circumstance - Two men selling stereo equipment out of the back of a white Cadillac SUV on the NE corner . Two white males, unknown age
3:54PM - Broadway & E. Union - Fire - Fire department responding to a telephone pole that is aflame
5:01PM - 1535 Bellevue Ave - Disturbance - Male and female are fighting in a parking lot
5:22PM - 100 26th Ave - Hit & Run - A Yellow Cab ran into a utility pole and then kept going. Last seen northbound on 26th. Evidently the same cab had an incident earlier in the week too.
5:34PM - 400 Boren Ave - Disturbance - A tenant was give a 10-day notice to leave, and she's now cursing and causing a scene
6:13PM - 2000 Federal Ave E - Fraud - Police are searching a home in this block as part of a fraud investigation. This is a fancy, executive-laden street, so it would be interesting to know some of the details here...
6:14PM - 1410 E. John - Shoplifting - Person in custody at Safeway

Looks like there was a jumper just now from the Aurora Bridge, Harbor got him, he's conscious and alert and they're waiting for fire.

yellow cab
Tonight around 6pm they towed the yellow cab (I'm pretty sure it has to be the same as mentioned above, and I'm pretty sure it is not a functioning cab) from in front of the apartment where it is always parked (on 27th) with a police standing by. Hoping they got the driver and not just the car--we'd be happy to see them go from our block! Any further updates on this one would be appreciated.

does anyone know what happened around 5pm? there were cops and medics.
