I just saw this Seattle PI story about two kids “affiliated” with the Deuce 8 gang that hangs out around 28th & Jackson:

They are charged with stealing the car of an admitted crack addict on Mercer Island. The car was later recovered near 29th and Alder.
They say that same car was involved in a mid-January home invasion robbery in the 900 block of 33rd Ave S. A description of one of the assailants in that case also matches one of the suspects in the car jacking, but they say that no charges have been filed yet for the home invasion robbery.
“Cummings has four prior felony convictions, making him ineligible to possess a firearm, court documents say.”
That’s sad.

There is also a group on the East coast that refers to themselves as a “family”. They call themselves the Gambino Family and they deal in organized crime. No matter what you call yourselves, some members of your “family” have targeted and and murdered members of other “families” because they are not a part of your “family” or they don’t live in the same neighborhood. Yes, like you mentioned, every group has bad apples, but your bad apples are committing crimes in the name of the “family”.
Deuce 8 is a gang in every sense of the word.

I sure love those home invasions, crack sales/roaming zombie crack heads, prostitutes and sporadic gun fire and all, really gives a lot of character. All this cleaning up is killing the character of the neighborhood.

I didn’t point fingers. the dudes were deuce 8. deuce 8 is a gang. Slice it however you want but thats not a good look for you if you want to be seen in a positive light. You don’t give the SPD a break and blame the individual when a shady cop does something dirty? You don’t seem to want to give white people any sort of individuality, they all fall from the same tree? but then you want to demand it in return? It doesn’t add up.
The kid that got shot was an idiot. A 13 yr old should not be out reaching for his cell phone or whatever after running from the cops at 4 a.m. on a dark corner in an area known for gun violence. Thats plain old common sense. that said that whole thing was a little fishy. why they shot him in the leg, which is not protocol. the officer was just scared and panicked when the kid was wylin out. Also that kid did not look 13. That’s why as a parent you are responsible to not let your kid put himself in a situation where he doesn’t fully understand the consequences.
I pay taxes and take care of my property, spend money in the community and most importantly show respect to everybody. I say hello, it’s not that serious. That’s my only real responsibility, to keep the area nice, respect my neighbors and live my daily life the best I can.
