CDNews Police Scanner - 4/14

From the cloudy streets of Seattle's East Precinct on the day before Tax Day, 2009:

11:10AM - 24th & E. Yesler - Unknown - Caller heard a loud explosion (not gunshots), and saw several young males running towards the Starbucks
12:58PM - E. Pike & Broadway - Shoplifting - Man wandering around in Walgreens after being caught shoplifting
1:26PM - 1100 23rd Ave - Narcotics Activity - 3 males and 1 female are smoking the weed outside someone's house
1:28PM - 21st & E. Union - Assault - One female assaulting a male, with two others involved verbally
2:18PM - 1800 24th Ave E - Burglary - Resident came home to find the front door open. Hasn't checked inside yet.
2:52PM - 11th & E. Olive - Suspicious Package - All sorts of boring radio chat about perimeters and police tape around 11th & Olive due to a suspicious package in Cal Anderson Park. Update: Park is being opened back up
3:36PM - 1300 S. Jackson Seattle - Car Prowl - Brief call from a cell phone, where operators believe that a man said that he had just been car-jacked. His red car was last seen southbound on Rainier. Update: Seems to be a language difficulty, now believed to be a car prowl.
Update:The victim interrupted a car prowl. Suspect is a vietnamese male with a shopping cart. Victim was threatened with a bottle and a knife, and the victim saw a fire arm in the shopping cart.
Update x3: Officers have found the suspect and taken him into custody
3:59PM - 23rd & E. Alder - " Property Damage " - A group of juveniles broke a white fence. Parade of destruction headed northbound
5:13PM - 32nd & E. Spruce - Suspicious Circumstance - Mom reporting 2nd hand information that her 7 yo daughter and another girl got a a person's car who they did not know. Only description is a black car
5:19PM - 1700 E. Union - Suspicious Circumstance - Caller reports several kids skateboarding on the roof of the building at TT Minor (??)
5:50PM - 1800 Lake Washington Blvd S. - Girls Found? - Radio chatter indicates that the girls from the 5:15pm event may have been found at the park here. Unconfirmed, and unclear how they got there. A tracking K9 is also on the way to help.
Update: Girls found at the park. They told an officer that they got lost and walked to the park by themselves
Update x2: Officer says girls weren't abducted, "our five year old witness was mistaken." Don't they teach accurate crime reporting in preschool any more?
6:06PM - 11th & E. Pine - Hit & Run - A black SUV hit a parked vehicle and left northbound
10:52PM - Rainier Ave & S. Austin - Shooting - Getting word of a shooting in the south end, possibly with a pursuit northbound.
Update: Suspect vehicle described as a white Nissan or white older Chevy, last seen northbound on Rainier
Update x2: Officers behind a possible match to the vehicle at Rainier & Dearborn
Update x3: Vehicle stopped at 14th & Main
Update x4: Situation reported under control. Unclear if that was the right suspect or not
Update x5: Four suspects taken into custody

cal anderson park?
I'm down in belltown and just heard there was a bomb AND a dead body found at cal anderson park, and that the incidents are not related but the whole park is closed off. Has anyone heard anything about that?

I just saw that police had blocked off 14th between yesler and couple blocks south. Guess its the same incident..

Police activity
I have heard at least 10 police cars racing with their sirens on up near MLK and Yesler. Anyone know what is going on?
