Update: One held at gunpoint at 2500 E. Alder Update: Suspect is actually 20 years old, and was wanted on a warrant for residential burglary. He's now in custody at the East Precinct, being attended to by medics for cuts and bruises
A woman is down on the ground in front of a house, possibly intoxicated. She was seen driving around a short time ago

White mini-van spotted by an officer in a hit and run. Vehicle headed northbound on 22nd. "I'm not staying up with him because he's going pretty fast."

An unoccupied stolen vehicle was found and recovered by an officer
Damage may end up being less than it originally appreared. The fire
occurred in a back hallway, which is well separated from the individual units, and residents have been let back into their apartments. Firefighters at the scene here can't say yet what the cause was. We'll follow up with the fire department later in the day.
Firefighter appear to have things under control now - there's very
little smoke left. The 4-unit apartment building is going to heavily damaged though. A resident said it started upstairs, and there was a bit of a panic as people tried k find a safe way out. But it appears that there aren't any injuries.
Child Protective Services is trying to take a newborn into custody, but the parents aren't letting anyone into their hospital room

Evidently it's a busy day for the druggies around 12th & Jackson. Police chatter indicates multiple arrests, including recovery of large amount of crystal meth from a vehicle they stopped. The suspect there ran off down into the jungle, skinny white male, 5'6", dark jacket, baggy blue jeans, short hair. Police chatter indicates that people have more money to spend at the beginning of the month.
