The Furnace, a quarterly reading series of adventurous literature, will have it’s final reading of the season tonight at 7 pm in the Hollow Earth Radio performance space. Portland based writer and editor of The Silk Road Review, Kathlene Postma, will read her story “Fetch” while musicians Cayla Davis and Margaret Schimming accompany her to create a soundscape for the story.

The series, which features one prose writer or playwright who reads one piece to completion, is an opportunity for a writer to not only get to read a piece all the way through – a rare thing for long form writers- but to also present the work in innovative ways. The show is streamed through Hollow Earth Radio’s live programming but folks in town can go watch the reading live in person. A limited edition chap book of the evening’s piece is available for $2 the night of the event. Continue reading
