Tuesday April 12th is the 3rd Annual Dine Out for Madrona K-8!

Dine out for Madrona K-8 is a fundraising event for our school and PTSA. The participating restaurants on 34th Avenue have agreed to donate a portion of their sales that night to us! We are building on our arts programming during the school day as well as our after school programming, and this night is one of our largest fundraisers, with a goal of $5,000. Come join our students, families, staff, and friends in celebration of this partnership between the Business Owners of Madrona (BOOM), our restaurants, and our school. If you would like to find out more, please visit our PTSA website www.madronapantherpartners.org.

Another burglary near Garfield

Just FYI neighbors – We live near 25th and Cherry and were out during lunchtime yesterday for about an hour. We got back and found that the house had been broken into – they forced open the back door and took a few small electronic items and cheap jewelry (good luck selling on the fake diamond earrings guys!). At least they didn’t wreck the place. So be vigilant and keep small valuables out of sight!

Missing Yellow Lab

Hi Folks,

Our neighbor’s yellow lab went missing today from his back yard on 25th between Jefferson and Alder. The dog’s name is Shadow, he’s very friendly, he’s wearing a collar and he’s chipped. If you see him, please call Scott at (206) 303-9303.

Thanks,

Jessica
UPDATE: Shadow is now home, safe and sound.

Help build Leschi Elementary's new playground!

Leschi Elementary is getting a new playground!

Please join us to help build it on Saturday, July 26th!

For many of you out there, Leschi Elementary is your reference school and whether you are a current parent, future parent or community member you are most welcome!

The new playground is made possible with funding and volunteer power from Washington Mutual, the Leschi Elementary community, the Seattle School District and KaBOOM (a national playground advocacy organization).

Help Leschi fifth graders jump their way to Camp Orkila!

March 12th – Leschi Elementary’s annual Jumpathon fundraiser!

The fifth graders will jump rope, double-dutch, and have a great time to raise money for their trip to Camp Orkila on Orcas Island. The two-hour Jumpathon will begin at 3:45 in the Leschi gym. Please stop by to cheer them on!

Your support is welcome from now until the students leave for Camp Orkila in June.

Even if you can’t make it to the Jumpathon, your donation of any amount for the students would be greatly appreciated and is 100% tax deductible. Checks should be made out to Leschi Elementary School/ASB (note “Camp Orkila Support” in the memo section).

Please stop by Leschi (32nd and Yesler) or mail your donation to: Camp Orkila Support, c/o Leschi Elementary School, 135 32nd Ave., Seattle, WA 98122.

Leschi is proud to be one of only six elementary schools in the state honored as a School of Distinction for the 2007 – 2008 school year.

Thank you for supporting your neighborhood school!
