1. Hi Joanna,

   By default, WordPress treats both actual comments and pingbacks (when another site uses a CD News story URL) as “comments,” so what you’re seeing are other sites mentioning/linking to CD News. No takeover involved. It’s possible to tell WordPress not to look for those mentions (and not run them in the comment feed), but it’s sometimes nice to see who’s referencing or building on a story.
