From a rainy, window November day in Seattle's East Precinct:

12:21PM - 1400 Shannandoah Dr. E. - Court Order - Request for police to serve a court order on employees "who are known to have access to weapons"
12:23PM - 51 Ave S. & S. Creston St. - Shooting - In the south precinct: Man said to be shot and laying in a yard
12:49PM - 700 32nd Ave S - Shots Fired - Report of several shots fired through the window of a house. The caller hung up before completing the conversation with the 911 operator. The shooter ran up the stairway at 31st & Dearborn.
Update: Suspect description: White male, early 20s, cammo pants
Update x2: This is the same house involved in the SWAT operation following the murder of Aaron Sullivan in July
Update x3: The weapon was a large rock, not a bullet
Update x4: Suspect detained at a bus stop on 31st
1:14PM - 700 21st Ave E - Suspicious Circumstance - Kid seen walking up and down an alley for about 10 minutes. Black male, 17, backpack
1:34PM - 1407 Broadway - Shoplifting - Adult male and female in custody at Bartells
2:27PM - E. Olive Way & Harvard Ave E. - Disturbance - Quizno's manager in verbal dispute with an employee. Wonder where "call the police" appears in the Quizno's employee mgmt handbook
3:34PM - 29th & E. Howell - Hit & Run - Car hit another and took off southbound. Suspect vehicle is a Kia registered to a Des Moine address, should have front-end damage.
Update: Police found it parked unoccupied in front of a house in the 2500 block of S. Norman
4:26PM - 3701 E. Howell - Suspicious Circumstance - Man in a red van followed a young student down the street. Suspect was approached and he sped off
7:26PM - 400 30th Ave - Welfare Check - Request for police to check on 90 year old mother who isn't answering the door or phone
10:59PM - 500 McGilvra Blvd E - Burglary - 93 year old female called LifeLine and said a man had tried to break into her house
12:03AM - 1500 Boylston - Car Prowl - Man breaking into a blue 4-door sedan. White male, black clothing

we occasionally include citywide things if they're important enough

Update: I originally misread this, and thought it was referring to the south-end shooting. The scanner covers all of the east precinct, from 520 to I90, and the lake to I-5.

The 32nd ave call was in Leschi, which is most certainly in the East Precinct.

Also, as far as general news goes, CDNews covers "the greater Central District", which according to our definition goes from Madison south to I-90, and Broadway to the water. We consider Leschi, Madrona, and Madison Valley to be part of that. (but not Madison Park).

Looks like CD/Leschi to me. It's several blocks north of I-90 and well within the East Precinct.

A 911 call regarding the home where Aaron Sullivan was murdered is far more important for me to know than the shooting in Tukwila. But, I appreciate all of the news and information that this site provides. So, thanks, Scott.

You are correct. I didn't map the address myself. I looked at your map. At the time, the only push-pin was the 51 Ave S & S Creston. Not considering where 700 32nd Ave S is, I wrote the wrong address.

So: 51 Ave S & S Cresion is not in the CD.

I really don't think most people consider Rainier Valley part of the CD, either.

I'm on 31st S and appreciate that you include us in your blog, Scott. I don't know of any other place where we can see local news and police blotter entries. Besides, all the places I shop are definitely in the CD.
