Located in North Rainier valley north of 1-90 lid-Sam Smith park and east of Judkins Park lies a small neighborhood called Jackson Place Community. You may have driven by these signs often and wondered, but here is a little insight to what is currently happening here.

There are a few new buildings that have been added to this community and all on one block of Hiawatha Place S. A new business & community hub is developing in this neighborhood and many are not aware of their contents. We invite you to come and explore as many of the businesses are open 6-7 days a week, dependent on season.

Here you will find art, dance, bicycles, books, coffee, and a community in the North end of Rainier Valley. Currently we are comprised of the following businesses, peers, and non-profits and always welcome to add more. Jackson Place Community Council | Hiawatha Artists Lofts & concert series | Café Weekend | C Art gallery |  Youth Venture | My World Dance & Fitness | Working Dog Bicycles | Artspace

We are juxtaposed to S. Rainier Ave. between S. Charles St. & S. Dearborn St. This is the quiet side of Rainier Ave. and we are looking to invite our neighbors and friends to join our facebook, and check out what the neighborhood is up too. The Jackson Place Business Association has helped designate every 1st Thursday from 3-6pm to outreach with the community as well as support the two annual Open House events at the Hiawatha Artists Lofts.

• The next "HAPPY HIAWATHA" is December 3rd, 2009 from 3-6pm

• JPCC next Quarterly meeting is Monday January 11th

• Hiawatha Artist Lofts Open House Fall bi-annual will be the 3rd Saturday in the month of October, 2010 (as we just celebrated 2009) and we are working to have our OPEN HOUSE Spring bi-annual in March (details tba)
