Tukwila: SPD was following up on a tip

I just arrived in Tukwila, where spokesman Mike Murphy says that spd
detectives had responded this afternoon to follow up on a citizens tip
in the murder of Officer Tim Brenton. They contacted a suspect who
"got boxed in" and produced a weapon. Officers then opened fire,
striking the suspect.

Murphy says that the victim was alive when he left the scene and is
now at Harorview.

More as we get it.

The helicopter footage of the car is pretty amazing.

Thanks again for your reporting Scott. Saw all the helicopters as I was on the light rail and now I'm watching for updates from the airport. So glad they found the suspect.

Again, good job Scorr for your tireless reporting. Everywhere I drove during the past 24 hour, my eyes were open looking for that car. I could have used the reward money.
saw that car Nov 1, I thought, in the CD. byCD worker3 months ago (0 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
Parked next to me, then sped off.
Called it in. Hope it helped.

My brief glance at driver: not unlike the named suspect; tall, thin, carmel/bronze skin. His passenger at the time had a lt. colored hat.

Damn fine timing, Tukwila PD.
I hope this was the guy by el residente3 months ago (1 votes) (report abuse) (reply)
If this turns out to be the killer, there are a few important things for us to recognize.

1.) It was not a gang crime.

2.) It was not a neighbor. It was someone who was probably hoping to throw people off his track by choosing a "high crime" neighborhood to do this. Or so obsessed with this particular pair of officers that he didn't care what neighborhood he was in.
