Neighbors who are planning on paying respects to slain officer Timothy Brenton are advised to get there early due to heavy security precautions. The memorial service starts at 1pm on Friday at Key Arena, and SPD spokesperson Renee Witt says that security at the event will be "very, very, very high", so expect some lines and delays getting into the building.

Although admission is first-come, first served, Witt says that the 16,000 seat size of Key Arena should be able to accommodate everyone who wants to attend. Doors will open at 11am.

For those that are unable to get away from work, CDNews will be there with a crew to provide full coverage.

Thank you forthe great coverage you provided from the onset of this horrific tragedy. I work in law enforcemnet in the north sound and found that I could keep track of what had happened and hpw things were unfolding with your reports. i am praying for the family of Officer Brenton, also for Officer Sweeney and the entire law enforcement community. I feel very sorry for the fear this has instilled in the people who live in and around this neighborhood. I am certain the perpetrator(s) of this crime will eventually get caught and I am hoping that they get what they deserve, the death penalty. We seem to have too many bleeding heart judges that only give a slap on the hand, but I am hoping this will change that and these juries and judges realize the value of life.

I found this website while looking for more details of the event. I too am an officer and have found your reporting to be detailed, accurate and fair. Thanks you for doing a very respectable job. Officer Sweeney, while you may never read this...just know that we are all thinking of you and will be there for you even though you may never meet most of us.
