a few minutes ago all the intersections on cherry from 23rd through 32nd were blocked, with more police zooming up and down...HUGE response..

heard the shots

craziness... i heard what sounded like gun shots and yelling near my home (23rd and dearborn) around that time and came to this site to see if that is indeed what i heard... perhaps it's related...

I'd also like to know about the officer's well being. I heard 7 gunshots, some muffled yelling, and then mamish 8 minutes of sirens.

I fear the worst

I heard the original call, and I agree it was "awful, absolutely heartbreaking". I'm still getting chills remembering that poor woman's voice on the radio.
They've requested homicide detectives, and they've asked to page the Seattle Police Guild president. So even though they haven't said so explicitly, I fear the worst. All in all, I wish I hadn't turned on the scanner this evening. |

called 9-11 like lightning with no more than five seconds delay, and if the time wasn't 10:06/10:07, maybe 10:08 but don't think can be any latter, i pray that the officer is somehow alive, but the entire top of the car was draped with a large white canvas OVER the roof and windshields..... Not good. never saw a sherif drive by so fast..... area lit like a christmas tree..... i run by this corner all the time at night, wow..... heartfelt prayers to the officers family and all police officers......... very violent, drug infested, gang area....

The shots were deafening from my house (29th)--I did not recognize them as shots until the second round. Horrible, horrible sound. I heard no arguing at all. Just the shots. Glad there were not any trick or treaters out.

" The Officers were conducting a traffic stop. While sitting in the patrol vehicle (FTO and Trainee) a vehicle pulled up and opened fire on the vehicle. The FTO was killed and the female trainee was grazed by a bullet and is still alive." |
