A rainy week begins in Seattle's East Precint:

10:39AM - 1522 E. Madison - Disturbance - Construction crews were working on open fuel tanks at 7/11, when 3 males walked through the area against their wishes and swore at the workers. 2 white males, 30s, white shirt/jeans, 6' jeans, black male, 30s, associated with a black jeep. A fourth male was also with them, armed with a steel chain, but he has since left
12:06PM - 5th & Cherry - Disturbance - A man is refusing to comply with police orders to lift his arms. He has a child with him and may be armed. Negotiators are on their way

12:13PM - 600 E. Olive - Burglary - Possibly involving stolen meds
12:35PM - 1410 E. John - Shoplifting - Person in custody at Safeway
1:02PM - 323 Broadway E. - Fraud - Female trying to cash a stolen check at CheckMasters. Described as black female, 30s, bald, wearing khaki jacket
1:36PM - Rainier S. & S. Charles - Accident - Car vs. metro bus, blocking
2:10PM - 10th S & S. Weller - Narcotics Activity - Man selling as he walks down the street. Asian male, 40s, 5'2", black jacket, black jeans
3:41PM - E. James & Broadway - Hazard - Man standing in the middle of the roadway
4:40PM - 25th Ave E & Boyer Ave E. - Hit & Run - Dark colored Toyota Camry hit someone else and drove away. Last seen northbound on 25th
5:01PM - Summit & E. Pike - Vehicle Theft - Caller saw someone get into a white Mitsubshi with a broken window and drive off, followed by a black SUV. They suspect it was a team effort at auto theft
5:26PM - E. Hamlin & Franklin Ave E. - Disturbance - Intoxicated man yelling out on the sidewalk. White male, 40-50, in a tan fishermans hat.
5:27PM - 815 E. Denny Way - Weapons Call - A man was seen out carrying a knife. White male, 40s, long blonde hair, black jacket
5:33PM - 200 26th Ave S. - Threat - Man threatened by the father of his girlfriend's children
5:52PM - 500 E. Harrison St. Seattle - " Welfare Check - Woman outside a building seems lost & confused. White female, 50s
6:18PM - 17th & John - Suspicious Circumstance - Man appears to be casing houses in the alley. Hispanic male, 20, black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants "that are too short"
6:26PM - 1400 E. Belmont Ave E - Burglary - NW School staff heard a basement window break, then saw a man crawling through that window, grab a laptop, and run off. Unknown race male, 5'8", 150lbs, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans. light colored tennis shoes.
6:57PM - 3000 E. Cherry - Alarm - On a home's living room motion detector
7:05PM - 500 14th Ave E - Threat - Son of a neighbor threatened to kill the complainant. Possibly a mental issue
8:49PM - 900 27th Ave - Disturbance - Homeowner hears people yelling outside
9:02PM - 18th & Thomas - Suspicious Circumstance - Man peering into parked vehicles. Black male, 5'10", 180#, dark pants, dark jacket
9:49PM - 1917 S. Jackson - Assault - Group of people assaulted the caller's boyfriend, tried to run him over, and then left northbound in a blue Chrysler that is registered to an address in the 900 block of 27th.
Update: Suspects described as a black male, 30, light skin, white/black jacket, with a black female, 20s, in a black jacket with hood

Possible Robbery/Car Jacking
Have you heard anything about the Orange taxi/outside of the Columbia Tower. Windows were shot out on the taxi.

We only heard parts of it, as it was a west precinct call. Evidently police stopped a man who wouldn't cooperate, specifically he wouldn't put up his hands. Police feared he was armed, and a child was involved, leading to a big police response.

We last heard that no shots were fired, no weapon was confirmed, and he was eventually taken into custody.

What just happened?
Just a few minutes ago, a Fire Truck came up Pine (at 15th Ave) and was heading east towards Madison. A few seconds later another Fire Truck. A few seconds later, ambulances and police cars. Anything?

The security of living 3 blocks from the police station and 2 blocks from the fire station is nice, but man it sure gets annoying having to listen to the sirens all day - every day.

You get used to it. I live a few blocks from Harborview and Swedish. Aid cars and Medic One choppers. It's not a big deal.

Police activity at 24th Ave & E Lynn Sunday Night ~ 7pm
Scott - if you have a moment and you have the scanner data, could you check for any information on this incident? We drove by the intersection and saw no fewer than 4 police cars with lights flashing (which is very close to the Montlake Bike Shop). We saw nothing to indicate what was up (i.e. no smashed up vehicles, etc), so we're very curious as to what would require 4 police units. Thanks!
