Seattle U Students Robbed, Witness Shot At, Perps Caught

By DD

Crime Alert via Seattle U security:

On Sunday, October 4th, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Seattle Police Department (SPD) and the Seattle University Department of Public Safety (DPS) received reports from four students who were all victimized in a strong arm robbery at Broadway and E. Union Street. Students reported four male suspects had assaulted them, hitting one of the students, and demanded their belongings.  When a witness intervened the four suspects jumped into a pickup truck driven by one of the assailants.

An unknown witness followed the suspects and at one point, near 16 AV and E. Spring St., two suspects got out of the truck and fired at least one shot at the witness, striking his car.  The witness backed off.  SPD officers located the truck at 15th and E. Spring St., and the three occupants were taken into custody.   DPS officers then spotted the remaining two suspects at the service station located at 12th & E. Cherry.  SPD officers were notified and responded. The suspects were positively identified by the victims and SPD officers booked all four males into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.  In addition the female suspect is under investigation for assault.

Fired One Shot?
I live at 17th and Spring and did not hear a gunshot that night. I started watching a movie around 10:15 or so and may not have heard it if it happened then because I was in the back of my house. Prior to that, I was in the living room facing 17th with a window slightly open and certainly did not hear gunfire.
