CDNews Police Scanner - 8/28

All the events on the last Friday in August in Seattle's East Precinct:

12:11PM - Union & Martin Luther King Jr. Way - Theft - Woman says that her ex-boyfriend stole her dog, and that she things he is currently at E Union & MLK where some homeless guys are trying to sell it for food. It's a blonde chihuahua with spots, pink sweater, pink leash, and pink toenails. Suspects described as black male, 5'8", and white female, 50s.
Update: The dog was stolen two nights ago during a DV assault. He's since been sending text messages about how he's going to dump the dog for sale
12:12PM - 2400 S. Irving - Disturbance - Two brothers in a fight, and one is armed with a baseball bat
12:16PM - 400 21st Ave - Suspicious Circumstance - Caller hears someone moaning in an abandoned house since last night. Officers didn't find anything when they checked yesterday.
12:51PM - 400 Lakeside Ave S - Suspicious Circumstance - Possible prowler on the north side of the building. White male, 30s-40s, blue button up shirt, tan shorts.
1:46PM - 200 25th Ave E - Welfare Check - Woman says she was locked out of her condo by her guardian
4:04PM - 1500 14th Ave - Trespassing - Woman hanging out on a porch where she's not wanted
4:38PM - 11th & E. Madison - Fight - Between two people at a storage building. One says the other is inappropriately cleaning out his box
5:24PM - 14th & E. Pike - Hit & Run - A blue sedan hit a parked car and kept going
6:17PM - 25th & E. Cherry - Narcotics Activity - Three men selling the drugs

Officers were dispatched, but we didn't hear any updates. Note that calls are often closed through their in-car computers, so we often don't hear about outcomes.

It sounded like that was just a convenient location for a dog sale. Possibly leveraging market traffic?

Perhaps the city needs to consider a new CMI (Chihuahua Market Initiative) program. They could start with undercover chihuahua buys, and the approach the dealers with the option to stop.
